xcr600 .. 'overthink'

You bring up several good points ..

BTTT-MAX provides a great framework
from which to approach trading ..

Nothing says one must be 'always in
the market' or to take every reversal ..
The 'system' is certainly flexible enough
to accommodate just about anyone's trading
style and market bias .. One can play 'long'
or 'short' or both .. take intra-day plays
only or over-nighters .. The beauty is that
as long as we can continue to id the stocks
with 'smooth' volatility per the model ..
there should be plenty of opportunities
to exploit ..

Jim in CT .. didn't take the late trades .. today ..

Personally, I have a hard time being truly mechanical. I am very much a technician, so I know I should rely on the signals more completely than I do. Especially when I look over the past number of trades that "could" have been, then I "overthink" the next signal.

My problem is (at least this is what I use for an excuse) that I can't watch full time. I have to put on a trade and often walk away for as much as 3-4 hours. This causes me to second guess signals. Most (maybe "much") of the time, I would have been better off taking the sig and trusting that it would produce desirable results, just as it did in the past. But, it's tough to do.

Ken

"Do you take a signal end of day?"

It depends. Today half of my watchlist went to sell signals in the last hour and the NAZ futures went to sell. So I did short. If it's only a couple of stocks signaling and the NAZ is still strong then I wouldn't short.
