Re: Give it a rest. We got your clever message about 20 posts ago. <boring>

Jim,

I think it's even more clever how you danced around my question.

You can sit on this thread and talk all this technical mumbo jumbo, but you won't answer the "real world" question of just how much does a half gig of DRDRAM cost? Can you find it for under $1000? Hell no, I bet Dell doesn't even get it this cheap.

Based off of what I can find, 512 MB of DRDRAM will cost me about $2000, thus doubling my system price. Now even if I do buy into all your crap about performance, is it worth it for double the price?

These Rambus salesmen must be good. Imagine if I walked into Ford and said, "I'll sell you this Rolls Royce engine for your Ford Taurus and you'll get a 10% performance boost, but it's going to double the price of the car." Somehow, Rambus was able to pull that one over on Intel, good for them.

BTW- We both want the same thing for different reasons. I know how bad DRDRAM will be for Intel, so I want them to stay devoted. You are suffering a case of mass delusion and think Rambus can get away with all this crap they are pulling. In the end we want the same thing.
