I HOPE we're not going to get into a grammarpicking contest here. Some of the big guns of grammar are around, you and jbe being the toughest. E-bill had better be careful starting that line of attack!! The merely competent can get sliced and diced.

Fowler's treats irregardless with relative gentleness.

In origin probably a blend of irrespective and regardless, it has been used for most of the 20c., chiefly in N. America, in non-standard or humorous contexts, to mean "regardless".

Spiting your English-teaching mother qualifies as highly humorous, I think. I'll give X a pass on this one. But we'll keep a close eye on her, just in case.
