No surprise about the request for expediting obviously, but I didn't expect Jackson to stay his own September penalties. Strange. He's admitted in recent interviews that he doesn't know if the DOJ "remedies" will actually help and that he doesn't feel qualified to come up with a better idea. Hmmmm. It's no great leap to conclude he doesn't understand the industry well enough to rule at all.

I'll be watching closely for the Supreme Court to quickly send the case back to Appeals. Such action would be extremely bullish for MSFT IMO and would have me accumulating OCT 2000 calls.

At any rate, it's excellent news that the Millenium release and Windows 2000 ramp up will not be delayed by all this. Plus you gotta love this technicality about the class actions being thrown out because they didn't buy direct from MSFT.

It's beginning to look more like cooler heads will prevail. I think MSFT will creep up this week.
