chic: If producing the chipset is not a problem why do we not have one or two being produced right now! You point out that the exorbitant cost of RDRAM leaves the kind of market opening competitors should die for. Research into DDRDRAM has been going on for five to six years.......AMD is ready to rock and roll (so we are told). Where is the chipset? Lots of rumors that chipsets were going to show up a couple of weeks ago in Taiwan. No luck! Even Mike Magee couldn't find them and he looked hard! Something does not smell right here.

I think AMD will need a chipset to make Athlon work with DDR, but I could be wrong!

Let me know when that chipset is validated. Yum! More royalties for Rambus.
