Last August a brilliant analyst named Ed Snyder had year 2000 EPS for QCOM at $.60

In honor of Ed's grasp of the sector I added "analysts' misunderstanding" on the FAQ as a reason the price of a good stock can drop.

Thanks for the post on Q. I, too, am "long" Q (percentage of portfolio, not $$ amt.-- small portfolio<g>) and enjoy these thoughtful posts.

I don't remember how it is that I signed up for Multex Investor's e-mail service updates (and I generally just delete them without reading them) but one of their "posts of the day" referred to Q, and snagged my attention:

multexinvestor.com

in full:
"The stock has been down lately, because China has announced that they will not use CDMA (Qualcomm's patented technology) for the basis for its cell phone service. This huge potential market was the reason that Qualcomm was given such a huge premium in price. I expect the stock will recover nicely once the news is forgotten about, which is a couple of days for today's investor. "

Not terribly helpful, or insightful...

Now, where do I find that Multex "un-subscribe" ...
