LOL! Bless you, Padre!! <G> I knew that a year ago when I got into it with Chris Land. Reminds me of the time I saw a dog looking at a commercial aircraft flying overhead. The dog turned his head sideways... but it still didn't make sense to him. To tell the truth, I made that post more for the people that are lurking and reading that manure than I did for Chris Land. I know where Chris Land is at, and I know how much chance there is for him to figure out what a commercial aircraft is.

Dear Thread I have given a little thought about why this thread has been so emotionally potent. And in particular discussing an appropriate tribute to edwarda. Now I did not know Edwarda as well as some of you here. When we conversed it was actually about stock ideas ;-). I did not know her real name, kiss her under the mistletoe, exchange intimate poetry or philosophize life. I do know that I was concerned about edwarda enough to want to help in someway. This thread was created by a few concerned personal friends and acquaintances. But here is what I saw.... People with diverse backgrounds and personalities rise up to a common purpose. whats wrong? how can we help??. ?Hey lets put together a list of symptoms... how about these diseases..., how good is that hospital...., how is the cat.....Did you know her sister is in Ga. and cant afford to see edwarda, single mom two teenagers.....Who can visit, check on the apt for clues.....WOW. Do you realize how many lives were effected by this little thread? Claudia must be thinking 'what was my sister really like? out of nowhere people are arranging airlines for me, sending me money to help defray costs, what is this internet group that really wants to make sure my sister is taken care of? How about her kids, 'Who are these strangers? Is the world really full of unselfish giving people? ' For those that believe Edwarda knew what was going on , 'god ! my sisters here I must really be sick' no really 'what incredible people I know, that are looking out for me and wishing me well' Or the doctors and nurses ' who the hell are all these people calling us every 3 minutes with some new poison we should investigate? The point is in a very short time people here pulled together to help their fellow man (woman). Thats what made this thread feel powerful and what really brings tears to my eyes. Now I know that the suggestions of hunger, college gifts etc are wonderful and not knowing Edwarda as well, maybe even more appropriate, but I hate the idea of diffusing the energy here to support some massive effort in a very small way. So here is my off the wall idea. Create the Edwarda memorial thread. But use it as a forum for US to make a Big difference in a few lives. Pick up articles, personal situations, other thread victims and post them. We may not all agree on where we can help, but when we can, LETs. This was magic, it was impromptu but we DID make a difference without bureaucracy, without committees, overhead, fundraising mailers, salaries, accountants, or 503-c filing papers. I liked the feeling that I made a difference in some small way. Even enjoyed hearing from SI BOB (who BTW I have developed a healthy respect for ;-) I know this, even if we only took on one project a year and got someone from California to new jersey, or helped a family in need get help, or a child educated, The Edwarda magic would come back. We could influence a few lives (cheaply for George and Cobalt) We sure would get a lot of new poetry, and veryone can have a good cry when we finished. Remember though, Sure as I'm writing this, What goes around comes around. If it works, How Big the idea could be and how the name Edwarda would live on. If it doesnt.. oh well maybe I can make a donation to that college... Anyway if its worth discussing im in.
