One can't say for sure. The "peak" may be a flattening of bookings as opposed to an immediate downtrend. Bookings were up 1.29% but this was the lowest sequential growth in at least six months.

If one were a trader, profit taking would probably be in order. There will be no reason for the big boys to buy these stocks today; there is only reason to sell. There won't be a celebration of these numbers.

If one were a long term investor, one would have to make a judgment as to the duration of the cycle in conjunction with a slowing economic background in addition to other factors such as the high utilization rates in the industry.

I currently have no position in AMAT.
