Hey. get me one of those secret decoder rings. I can still remember as a child anxiously awaiting the postman for delivery of mine, somehow having managed to con my mother into buying the requisite number of cereal boxes.
Seriously, you're probably right about the age of IT people, but don't under estimate the stultifying effects of working for a big conservative old economy company. If getting them to go CTXS was easy we wouldn't be looking at the little red numbers opposite CTXS in our portfolio. Obviously I think CTXS offers substantial benefits to many companies or I wouldn't be a stockholder.. However, I do think time is critical in establishing the mass adoption "snowball" effect needed for CTXS to become the standard so it makes CTXS a risky investment. If the company can execute better, it has a real product that solves real problems. Only time will tell if management is up to the transition. As outsiders we have no way to accurately judge their abilities except by their actions. Unfortunately, the most recent actions weren't too hot, but now they know how and where they went wrong. . My best guess is that CTXS will be able to penetrate those big companies that need it the most and become a good sized niche player. If this turns out to be the case the stock may be attractive near present prices for long term investors. I won't be buying more because I long ago learned not to average down. (reinforce the winning platoons and retreat with the losing platoons)
Waiting for the secret decoder ring was a lot more fun than watching CTXS stock fall of the cliff...
