I'm sure that the broker just shorted me the shares. And that many other brokers did the same thing.

Then they found out that they would have to cough up the extra shares, as it was not a split.

At that point they decided that they had to stick to their guns. Otherwise there would not have been enough shares to give to the new owners of the stock.

The reason that I bought when I did is because I saw this brokerage short squeeze potential.
