Good points Allan

I like listening to the Fools as they have guests like the CEO of JDSU and then they ask him the tough questions like "would YOU buy your stock at this level"?

They spent a whole hour recently on the valuation of Cisco... "sure it is an industry leader, but are there better places to put your money". Great discussion from both them and the callers.

They preach don't buy penny stocks and I want to yell at the radio "but that is no fun!" but I understand their caution. One caller took them to task on this issue saying how if you know something about a company etc... and they relented a bit.

K

Do you feel "enabled" enough to do without Bob?
Absolutely!

He has not made me "dependent" upon him. But, it is so much easier, and yes, I am a bit more confident when following his advice. [eg: I would not have bought Q?s had I not listened to him]. Sometimes I choose not to follow his advice and sometimes this works for me. I've been to a point, for a long time - wherein I can leave my radio for weeks at a time and not worry about my portfolio. However, I am a Marketimer subscriber, and recently David's notes have helped.
I feel Bob has given me the confidence that I can do it on my own. He certainly tells us where to find the tools, etc. He is not the only "teacher" out there - but he was my first and I/we continue to learn from him and often have profited well from his advice. Obviously, he is able to advise not only the beginner but the advanced and knowledgeable as well.

Would you be looking for that full service broker again?
Need you ask????? I have no need for one.

Will you be able to time the market and chose investments for yourself?
I don?t time the market and I?ve chosen many investments for myself.

I think Bob?s recommended portfolios are great for those not wanting to do the "foot-work" for themselves. There are many who are not interested in learning, ?don?t have the time?, ?don?t want to be bothered? ? who are content to choose a portfolio and forget about it. I?ve enjoyed and grown with every year ? it helps me feel in control of my life, my future.

Often the more knowledge one attains the more critical one becomes! UTEK, Rainforest Cafe.....it is/was our choice whether or not to buy/sell these stocks. It sounds as if "we" make "them" responsible for these decisions that we make. I bought UTEK, I sold UTEK - MY decision.

As for one of the learning tools: There is a wealth of knowledge and information on this site. Sometimes I've no clue what you're talking about -- but, if I'm interested - I learn. Thank you Justa, Lars, etal.
