The answer, from my brokerage, to my own question below...yet nothing shows in my account of the transfer. I've never seen a company that was bought trade under the new company's symbol before any indication of the transfer of shares in one's account:

Thank you for your e-mail.

Due to the acquisition of Warner Lambert by Pfizer, WLA is now trading under the symbol PFE.

If you have any further questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to e-mail us again or to contact a TD Waterhouse representative at (800)934-4448.

Thank you for choosing TD Waterhouse.

>> WLA hasn't traded since Monday's close . . . have they changed the symbol? . . .the transfer of shares to become PFE hasn't happened yet. What gives?<<

Your WLA shares HAVE been converted into PFE shares, at the 2.75 exchange ratio, and if you wanted to sell, your broker would accept an order to sell PFE. It's just that your broker (and others including Schwab) haven't gotten the bookkeeping done yet - they'll manage that in a day or two, I expect.
