Analyst laff of the day, from Herb Greenberg: After last week's item on ArthroCare (ARTC:Nasdaq - news) appeared, suggesting the company's sales this quarter may be light, a number of analysts issued reports defending the maker of arthroscopic surgical devices. My poisonal favorite, by Al Kildani of Pacific Growth Equities, was headlined, "Sharp Decline in Share Price Unwarranted." He then went on to cut his earnings estimates. thestreet.com
