Does this mean that you reckon Brocade is a great long-term investment, as it is the Market Leader with first mover advantage? Does Brocade have proprietary architecture to its products, or does it simply outexecute the other guys in the field? Appreciate your input.

On paper, Brocade seems to be a great long term investment. As for me, I've been long Ancor for many years and watched Brocade appear out of nowhere and seize the market while my boys struggled to turn the ship from the LAN to the SAN. Obviously, I wish I had bought in on Brocade but I'm stubborn. I tend to pick one player in a segment rather than hedging my bets. (It's why I'm only invested in EMC in the storage segment.) Fortunately for me, I'm in at an average cost of about $1.75 for Ancor so I'll do just as well as if I'd switched over to Brocade.

Right now, I think Brocade is priced a little high. Their price is predicated on their claims that they have 90% market share. That figure will begin to erode and it will be interesting to see how it affects the price of their stock. Ironically, my other choice in the fibre channel arena is QLGC. With QLGC acquiring ANCR my holdings in that company are about to balloon.
