People invest to make money. Plenty of money can be made in a trading range market and yes people will invest in it. Plenty of people invested and held during the 1966 to 1980 timeframe. Traders made money. Buy and Holders didn't make money but they didn't lose their ass either. I had college money invested in 1966 and when it was time to go to college guess what. I was right where it started and actually lost money due to inflation. People will always try to buy and hold. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. This in investing where nothing is safe.
