Sudan: Proposal On Sanctions To UN Security Council Postponed For One Week
Text of report by Sudanese radio on 21st June

The external relations minister, Dr Mustafa Uthman Isma'il, has affirmed the continuation of dialogue with the USA on the sanctions imposed on Sudan by the UN Security Council.

In a statement yesterday, Dr Mustafa said Washington had asked for the submission of the proposal [presumably on lifting sanctions] to the Security Council for consideration to be postponed. He said the Sudanese government had agreed to the postponement for one week.
