They've drawn a beautiful chart all the way down with new low levels held long enough to suck in investors and then a few sells on the bid to create another new low level and so on. This spells greed, manipulation and shorting at its best, in my opinion.
When you have the MMs working against you, there is nothing you can do about it except play the game right along with them, but I think its wrong. I don't think this was the intentions when the stock market was first developed.

It is my understanding that just placing a GTC order to sell does not prevent shares from being shorted.

I don't have a specific reference for that, so I'm not sure, but I believe that to be the case. Does anyone know for certain and if so, where can we read the rule for that?
