are you running the most current version of blackice defender? it was 1.9.25, but bid has released 2.1.u. if you follow the bid message boards, you'll note that there has been a minor riot over there regarding the release of what many are calling a beta version (2.1.u). although the networkice techs deny it, i must admit there are a pile of people with upgrade issues, primarily blue screens of death and bid engines not starting on reboot, etc. i know firsthand, as i crashed 5 times over the course of 6 hours after installing the upgrade. [to check version, click the bid icon in your systray, then 'help', then 'about blackice'.]

long story endless, bid immediately released 2.1.w, which contains some different drivers, i think. i installed the 'patch' and it fixed me right up. so when you're checking your version number (btw, bid doesn't always install new with the most current version, can you believe that?), you might want to consider the bsod's some have encountered with 2.1.u. at least you'll know what the heck is going on (if you do start crashing) and you can install 2.1.w right on top of 'u'. i should note that there are far many more bid users who experienced no prob whatsoever with 2.1.u.

fwiw...

:)
