He was very influential on literary modernism, edited The Wasteland, made various obscure poets better know, wrote some good poetry himself, and wrote one of the most interesting, if eccentric, books on literature I have read( The ABCs of Reading).On the other hand, it is not clear how much he mattered as an individual to the literary trend he championed, and he was a vicious anti- Semite who spouted pro- Axis propaganda for Il Duce during the War. Well, I will be interested in seeing how you balance the picture......
