There's alot of confusion in this market, and alot of risk-taking on the part of "analysts".
I don't think anyone "knows" anything, but to make a mark or get your name out, you have to have a sensational viewpoint.
As a result alot of analysts are starting to get sucked into their own "star" status and create ways to get noticed. That means making outlandish claims (for good or bad) and being able to create some noise.
We all know analysts who made their mark by predicting Amazon to 200 or Qualcomm to 400.....whether or not these marks were justified or even met was irrelevant. It created a buzz.
As far as actually knowing anything, I'd say none of them do, or care to, anymore. In the current market, however, the prelim reports seem to indicate a healthy (if not booming) PC market, but that the real market to be watching is servers....
