Re: Slowing sales at eMachines.

It could be that buyers have had the same disgusting experience that I have had with a "budget" computer.

I bought an eMachine about a year ago and have had nothing but problems with it. Bad modem, bad fan, bad floppy drive and now the damn thing won't turn on by the on switch. I have to turn it on by flipping the power on at the surge protector or unplug it. Would I ever buy another one? NO! NEVER. I will go back to Dell, which I've had 3 of at my office and have never had a single problem.

Did I mention the thing is as loud as a 747?

I'm just counting the days until it becomes obsolete. Hurry up Moore's Law!!

>> A hint of slower retail PC sales; could indicate soft demand for HDD?

I don't see any general slowdown of PC sales. In fact just the opposite. Memory makers can barely keep up with demand. Intel and AMD have very strong demand. Storage keeps doubling every year. So I think the problem is specific to e-machines.
