i3 Mobile Launches Wireless Portal for WAP Forum Conference Portal Will Give Conference Attendees Access to Schedules, Local News, Hot Spots and More

STAMFORD, Conn., and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Jun 15, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --
The WAP Forum and i3 Mobile (Nasdaq: IIIM), a leading provider of wireless media
solutions since 1991, from personalized, localized information to e-commerce
services, today announced the launch of the WAP Forum Wireless Portal, powered
by i3 Mobile.

The portal was created for attendees of the WAP Forum conference being held June
18-23 in Beverly Hills, Calif. Attendees can look up conference and local area
information on their WAP-enabled phones including:

 -- session schedules;
 -- a directory of attendee contact names and phone numbers;
 -- listings of Beverly Hills-area restaurants and hot spots;
 -- local news headlines;
 -- local weather; and
 -- real-time Nasdaq and Dow Jones stock indices

A version of the portal will also be available for attendees with AT&T
PocketNet(SM) phones, Sprint PCS Wireless Web phones and Palm VIIs. Information
on how to access the portal can be found at
i3mobile.com.

"This portal gives us the opportunity to deliver on the promise of WAP
technology and demonstrate how localized, relevant applications can and will be
used to meet both the business and entertainment needs of the mobile phone
user," said Stephen G. Maloney, president and CEO of i3 Mobile. "This portal is
a good example of how wireless is reshaping the ways in which we interact with
information."

"The WAP Forum portal puts some very useful tools in the hands of our attendees,
and is a great working example of how WAP will become a valuable part of our
professional and personal lives," said Scott Goldman, CEO of the WAP Forum.
"Using WAP to obtain valuable conference information as well as local
information about Beverly Hills is a practical, meaningful way to help advance
the cause of this technology."
