Agree Richard, we have a large amount of Brinker critics. They get booted off Brinker's site and then congregate on our site to complain and vent. They were vocal to begin with, so we get much extra posting from it. OTOH, some Brinker fans on our site, like MarkJ and PLAYDATE, just love to push buttons and get "BrinkerBashers" going. I think they do it just to watch the "3-Stooges fire drill" that follows. Sometimes the people interaction on the discussion threads is far more entertaining than the actual radio show! All-in-all, this thread was a pretty reasonable place to discuss facts (that is why I come). It would be a shame if that were to change.

"But I'm starting to think it is hopeless." I don't think so. There is a difference between writing from a position of critical scholarship as opposed to axe-grinding. I know the difference and so do the writers! There have been many 'Brinker issues' actively debated here in a context of intellectual integrity. You know when you really want to test an idea or really push on a thread of logic. And you (not you personally, I am referring to all of us) know when you simply want to use your intellect to get someone but try to decorate your intention with coyness. As I wrote earlier, it is boring. And, there are a lot of places where that type of discourse is permitted and nurtured. This does not have to be one of those places. Ciao, David Todtman
