The Chinese have provided a precedent.

Didn't they take China Telecom public, then break off China Unicom which they are taking public? I'm waiting for China Unicom to spin off China Duocom.

Now that is some great thinking. While they're at it they may as well sell infra again. Ericsson hasn't done much with it yet. Make sure you e-mail QCOM with your revelation.<g>
