gloff,

"1. The Nasdaq is up 1000 points in less than a month. Time to correct."

I think, even though the Naz was down today by more than 3 percent, FFIV did very well in this bearish environment. Imagine what could have happened if the overall market remained in it's up trend! But of course, even FFIV won't be able to withstand a major market decline for a couple of days.

"4. There was a gap up from yesterday's close of 46 11/16. My guess is that window will be closed. I'm always amazed how gaps are so consistently filled."

I had a closer look at the chart (http://www.stockmaster.com/exe/sm/chart?co=b&ci=I%3ASPX&ma=n&UPT=5562&m=3&Symbol=FFIV) but could not find any gaps during recent days. You can find one end of April 2000 when F5 broke through the $50 support for the last time. I consider this as a gap which could be filled very soon (or later).

My $0.02
Andre

gloff,

more on gaps: In my last post I forgot to express that I absolutely can confirm your view on the behavior of gaps in stock charts.

I was always astonished how gaps have been filled, even after many years. So, I always consider in my TA all the gaps that are "in reach" from the actual price. And most stock's price actions, at least those that I watch, always confirmed my strategy when I thought that this and that gap had to be filled.

For instance, the Naz gapped a few weeks ago when it jumped from 3600 to 37xx. I'm convinced that this one will be filled. We might see 3400 or even 3300 in the next two weeks.
