Thanks for your comments.

I didn't say anything about a holy war

You didn't mention the holy war but you are one of the foot soldiers fighting in the trenches.

nor did I say a person couldn't hold both stocks at once.

You posed the question: Which stock would you rather own now?

I said that I hold both.

1. As a consumer I think AOLs product is marginal.
2. As someone who follows the industry I see AOLs product as something people familiar with the Internet won't pay for.

Not everyone has your narrow view and 22 million AOL users would probably disagree with you. I'm one of them. You can reach me at davenfrench@home.com, davenfrench@aol.com, or davenff@aol.com.

3. As an investor I see the potential for growth in stock price favoring ATHM such that if I had $100 to invest in either one or the other I would chose ATHM.

Both services have intrinsic value. I'm betting that AOL will continue to have value for those, not of your bent, and that ATHM's value will increase rapidly over the next 2 years.

I think there is a good chance that you are right about ATHMs potential price appreciation vs AOL, but I wouldn't put my money on ATHM solely.

Back-up the truck.

KB,

You forgot something-

steve case is a sly, self-centered whiner who will wantonly utilize deceit to further his own ends.

David, I do not like aol. It is not a holy war for me either, it is a matter of digesting tactics and ethics and deciding if I like the leadership of a company. I can forgive a lot, just look at @home. But, I do not trust case and do not appreciate how he manipulates situations. Sharp, sly and clever yes. I do not place sly high on my personal list.

God Bless, make all the dough you want on any stock you like, personally, I'll pass on aol.

Now, BACK-UP THE TRUCK
