You are too kind, It's like thinking that the whole purpose of Amway is to keep peoples houses clean. The congregation is praised for bringing in new souls, but the new souls always face the collection plate. You can't really have Jesus in your heart if you aren't prepared to tithe.

The whole purpose of evangelism is to spread the Good News. Once someone has heard and understood, it's up to God from that point on.
