I would certainly include environmental fundamentalists in the category of "fundamentalist political ideologies".

The "green police" that some here think we need coming and dictating what I can do with my land are a threat to my freedom.


Government will always have some right to control what you do on your land, to the extent that what you do on your land impacts the rights of your neighbors. If you store poison on your land in leaky drums, and it contaminates the groundwater that your neighbors drink, their rights are violated.

There is obviously a balance here that requires continuous refinement.

It's in government, not the Church that tyranny is being propagated.

This is true, but it is also true that there are religious groups who want to use the power of Government to impose their agendas on others who do not want or need them.

Unfortunately, some of the socialist and "do gooder" ideas start at the level of the churches and work their way into government.
