Kent: "The NTT DoCoMo group plans to launch the world's first IMT-2000 service on May 30, 2001."

This mantra is getting tiresome.

Seems as if all reporters work off a previous story in their computer with this line in it.

Do you suppose someday someone will notice that 1X in Korea and then Japan will be "the world's first IMT-2000 service" - this year?

The confusion is due in part to the use of current frequencies for 1X and then HDR rather than the "new" but also FUD.

Best.
