Scumbria,

The thread is in denial. The big rise today was due to the prospects of royalties from competing products. What does that say about the Rambus' home grown product? Without the Toshiba and Hitachi SDRAM royalty announcements, this thread would be in an entirely different mood, after Intel's SDRAM product announcements this week.

Suppose AMD were to get a royalty on every Intel, Sun, and Motorola processor. Would that be implying that the AMD products were bad? Or just simply that the other products used something in AMDs chips that was proprietary?

In case you haven't noticed, there has been little news about DRDRAM recently.

No, the bears have forgotten that the CEO of the largest memory manufacturer in the world said that RDRAM would be a $38 billion dollar business in two years. RDRAM is not dead, dead, dead when the CEO of the largest memory manufacturer says the market is going to be 10x larger in two years than it is now! (p.s. If you don't really believe it, you don't have the CEO of the company say it -- too much honor to lose. You have some peon say it instead. If the CEO says it, you can believe that the company believes and supports it.).
