Mag,

"Many beginners
get the mongo bucket, rifle through them like there is no tomorrow hitting driver on 90% of the swings... and then wonder why they do not improve with all
the time they spend on the range."

Many beginners? IMO, many people that have been playing for years still do this.

I don't mean to be cruel, but these "studs of the driving range" are a pure joy to watch. My favorite is the guy that ONLY brings the driver with him. And why not, you could use that club at least 14 times a round so why not practice all your range time with it? LMAO.

I have tried to talk a very competitive buddy of mine into playing a round with just three clubs(any three and you get to choose). So far he has declined. I think the fact that I took money from him in a charity outing last year by betting him that I could beat him on any hole with just my trusty 7 iron left a very distinct impression on him.

I agree that learning to work the range of each club has a benefit for all the other clubs. I might try it tomorrow too. I have a practice round before a grudge match with my arch rival, The Jumbo, on Sunday.

Have a good one play soon.
