Dan,
The fact that this whole furor over the death of a murderer is a blatant political ploy, is so obvious it looks ridiculous to any intelligent viewer. All that horse puckey about Graham lifting himself up out of poverty, and the ghetto where he was born, was an out and out lie. The only way he ever got any money was by stealing it. In 7 days, he seriously wounded 22 people, one of them being a 57 year old woman was raped, and then he killed an unarmed man for no reason. One of his victims became stalled on a freeway with his wife and her parents in the car. Graham came along and offered him a ride for help, but stopped a little way down the road, pulled out a double barreled, sawed off, shotgun, and told the man he was going to kill him, and then go back and kill his wife and her family. The man fought back, but Graham succeeded in severing his leg with a blast from the gun. He also told the man that he had killed before and that a few more didn't matter. Now, can anyone out there say that this man deserved to live?? No way, in my book.

All of those out of staters should know that, according to the Constitution of the State of Texas, the Governor, regardless of who that individual is, is not allowed to issue a pardon to any one. Only one stay is authorized and that had already been granted by Ann Richards. There were two hearings by the US Supreme Court, and 33 appeals, and the sentence was upheld every time. Also, the sentence of death without parole is not an option in Texas. In other words, there was nothing Bush could have done even if he wanted to.
