European stocks down; techs fall

LONDON (CBS.MW) -- European stocks slumped Friday, with technology shares giving up some of the gains they?ve added this week.

All of the following shares also trade in the U.S.:

Mobile phone maker Nokia (NOK: news, msgs) shed 2.58 euros, or 4.1 percent, to 61.12 euros on volume of 6.7 million shares on speculation the company could buy a stake in mobile phone technology maker Qualcomm (QCOM: news, msgs). Nokia said it has no comment on market rumor. Shares of Nokia?s Swedish rival Ericsson (ERICY: news, msgs) fell 7.50 euros, or 3.9 percent, to 61.12 euros on volume of 32.3 million shares.

Thread - what technology is NOK bringing to this party? Why are they making this announcement now and we haven't heard of a new license? Thoughts? John
