Clinton Supporters Siccing SEC on Lazio:

(CNSNews.com) - A Clinton supporter in New York has successfully persuaded the Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate Rick Lazio's trading in stock options, something the Lazio campaign calls "a new low" in smear tactics. "The Clinton administration has a long history of abusing federal authority and using government bureaucracies to attack their political opponents," said Rick Lazio's campaign manager Bill Dal Col. Rep. Lazio (R-NY) is challenging Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton for New York's US Senate seat. The SEC has agreed to look into the nearly 600 percent profit Lazio made on stocks options in a company headed by his political supporters. Lazio denies any wrongdoing and says he will cooperate. The Clinton supporter who initiated the probe is New York State Comptroller H. Carl McCall. The Lazio campaign says federal officials leaked word of the probe Thursday, the same day an independent counsel said there's evidence that Hillary Rodham Clinton - contrary to her denials --ordered the firings of seven people in the White House travel office seven years ago.
