Clutts: It is unfortunate that Col. McCormick isn't still around to straighten out his commie colleagues like that left wing zealot Murdoch. M2

The press' bias doesn't bother me as much as their insistence that they're neutral does. I'd love to see the return of guys like Hearst and Col. McCormick, even Horace Greeley. They had their own agendas, but they were honest about where they stood.

Pournelle's curt response is a little disappointing. He's been very busy lately preparing for a big PC expo somewhere. Perhaps if you were a paid subscriber he would have been more forthcoming. I have considered sending him money, but haven't done so yet. It does give one pause when he writes on his site, "All money sent becomes the property of J.E. Pournelle and Associates, none will be returned, and we promise nothing in return beyond continuation of this web page with reasonable updates at least weekly and daily when possible." But I appreciate his honesty.

There is a wealth of information on his site for the hard core techie. I just peruse it for his random musings and sci-fi updates. I suppose that's worth something. If my vaporized portfolio rebounds I'll probably send a check.
