Emerging Company Report- $2 Billion Jukebox Industry Moving to 21st Century Technology
Jump to first matched term

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Emerging Company Report, the nationally syndicated television program profiling emerging-growth companies (http://www.emergingcompany.com), features an interview this week with Digital Video Display Technologies, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: DVDT).

CEO Lee Edmondson described Digital Video Display Technologies' core business as being the design, manufacture, distribution and sale of its location-based Interactive Video Jukeboxes to bars, restaurants and other entertainment establishments. "Our Video Jukeboxes enable patrons to watch MTV-style music selections," he said, "at their favorite bars and restaurants while purchasing products and services as they would on the Internet. In 1999, over $2 billion was spent in jukeboxes, but half of the time, those units are idle, not being used. DVDT's business model is to market that idle time with advertising and merchandising to create additional revenue." The company sells the units to the entertainment locations and earns revenues each time the units are used. According to Edmondson, the entire music format of a unit can be changed from DVDT's remote server location.
