Question:..S-CDMA are cable modems..can S-CDMA be used for DSL modems? Confused on this since I am technically challenged.

Was this posted here by chance? if not, latest PR from TERN.

Bashers left awhile ago. Funny there was no followup by the ususal suspects which indicates to me the report was false as Anthony Pacific stated it was on the Donations board.

Terayon's CherryPicker Digital Video Management System Enables Efficient
Delivery of Digital Video via DSL

Atlanta, Georgia ? June 6, 2000 ? At the annual SuperComm tradeshow, Terayon
Communication Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: TERN) today announced that its CherryPicker?
digital video management system can now enable the delivery of digital video over
telephone networks via Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) technology. This will allow carriers to
add to their growing list of subscriber services by overcoming the previous bandwidth
limitations of the "last mile" which made delivering video to the home impractical.

Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs) and Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers
(ILECs) have successfully leveraged DSL to aggressively roll out high-speed Internet
access and other data services to complement their traditional voice services. As a
natural extension, telcos are eager to deliver digital video to their customers.
Deployments so far have been limited due to bandwidth limitations and the ability to cost
effectively prepare digital video programming from a variety of sources for
re-transmission into the home.

The hurdles have now been overcome. CherryPicker allows carriers to deploy
revenue-generating video services with a five-to-one cost savings over less sophisticated
systems. CherryPicker can enable the delivery of multiple digital video channels over a
single xDSL line simultaneously, giving customers choice and control over what they view
from their TV or PC.

"With CherryPicker, carriers can now venture into the next realm of the broadband
revolution ? delivering video over their networks," said Stephen King, vice president and
general manager of Terayon's digital video systems. "Delivery of video via DSL is a major
growth opportunity for carriers worldwide."

Terayon's CherryPicker works entirely in the compressed digital domain, which maximizes
bandwidth utilization and ensures the highest levels of video quality. The system can
efficiently pick out a desired digital video program from a compressed and multiplexed
multiple program transport stream (MPTS) to deliver a number of different video
programs to the intended re-transmission receiving site. CherryPicker then allows the
carrier to specify the appropriate bit rate for re-transmission of the selected program.
This ensures the video is delivered to the subscriber with the highest possible quality,
while maximizing the available DSL bandwidth. Further, the transmission parameters
allow the telco to conserve additional bandwidth for delivering other services including web
pages, fax, data, Internet, targeted ads, email and other basic telephony services.

About the CherryPicker digital video management system

Terayon's CherryPicker line of digital video management systems give cable, satellite
and telco network operators unprecedented choice, control and flexibility in managing
their digital video content. Operators can create custom channel line-ups by "cherry
picking" from a variety of content sources ? such as satellite broadcast and local servers
? to better serve their subscribers. In addition, CherryPicker can support most digital
video applications, such as Video-on-Demand and seamlessly inserting digital
commercials into digital programming.

The CherryPicker digital video management system is completely interoperable with
digital video headend products from most major manufacturers.

Terayon Communication Systems provides innovative broadband access systems for
delivering advanced voice, data and video services over cable and DSL. The company's
broadband cable and DSL systems have been deployed by the world's leading cable and
telecommunications carriers. Terayon, headquartered in Santa Clara, California, has
sales and support offices worldwide, and is traded on the Nasdaq under the symbol TERN.
