I became interested in Bi0-techs a couple years ago after discussing DiSCO with my sister-in-law, who is a respiratory therapist. She worked at the time in a neo-natal unit. The importance of the development and testing of artificial Surfaxin was fascinating. (Which is currently in Phase 3 of testing and on the FDA's fast track for approval. DiSCO holds all the patents.)

My next encounter with Bio-techs was regarding stem cell research. Which I am not yet sure how I even really feel about this type of research.

I have also followed research relating to the development of new drugs and devices to treat Diabetes. I have a diabetic husband and nephew. My nephew just recently went on an insulin pump. One year after my husband got his. The new pump is more advanced, it even has a remote control. That is NEAT!!! There are other developments in the works for implant caths sites for the injection of insulin from pumps.

Ok, and lastly I love the gamble of product development.
