TP, re >the state has some interest< The state's only legitimate interest is the defense of the individual rights of it's citizens. Exactly whose individual rights are being defended by forcing everyone who cannot afford to buy education twice into cookie cutter Government Schools?

NONE of the kids have had an incident of violence, rape, or drugs, or other major crimes that I know of. What trouble are you refering too. <<Community awareness is a side-effect of the public school system, but an important one.>> When I asked a graduate of a Public High School, what the best thing about the public system was; He said, it is the best contact you'll ever have in your whole life for absolutely anything you want. He was very aware of his community. Is that what you meant? Isolation, paranoia...hmmmm. I suggest that you are speaking as an outsider, without real knowlegde of what is going on the inside of these substrata of American society; and that you are afraid of it. I further suggest you ask yourself about these two words that seem to be on your top two list. Ya seem a bit overly touchy on the subject dude.
