The Declaration of Independence states that it is by the "Creator". Whether or not you believe in a "Creator" might skew your view on this. If you are arguing that these rights do not exist, then why is it that you consider it wrong when an individual murders another? If you follow the path of logic where you seem to be going, the original victim did not have the right to life and therefore the aggressor should not be punished for taking that life. Do you believe that the "state" would have the right to take your life because of your religion or lack thereof, if it was stated so as a law? How about your color?
