Darrell, peterson's article was published on Prudential's website for their paying customers. The article, the source and the whole thing seems to be accurate. Please take time to go to Ibexx's post, where he reprinted the whole article. I own NOK not because they are a technology wonder, but they are the most efficient manufacturer of cell phones. I thought hmm, these Finns are good in making phones, but can't get the technology together (after all, they have been in the CDMA development business for nine years without success). And CDMA is what everything will be in 2 - 3 years, and if they want to make money CDMA, they have to buy the chips instead of making them. And they will be hugely successful, and eat all the other manufacturers' lunch every day. This was some months ago. Since then, they have surprised me with how stupid they can be with their 'make versus buy' decision on the ASICs. But today's news is very encouraging. They will buy Q chips indirectly (don't for a moment think that the Telson phones are for Korea. that country is saturated. They are for export. Even their news release says 'for global markets etc..' This could mean big money for both NOK and Q. You are seeing this as a win - loose situation like most of the NOK worshippers on the NOK thread. It is absolutely not. This country here is the world's most lucrative market, and wireless has barely made a dent here. So when NOK can sell phones that are accepted by the market, they will make a ton of money. And of ocourse QCOM. So it is a win - win situation. I got booed out of the NOK thread a few months ago for saying just this. NOK's future as the world's leading phone maker depend on playing all the fields. Forget this capitulation crap. This is business..
