I don't know how the issue of tithing first got mentioned on this thread, but you, certainly did no harm in mentioning "the body of Christ". Those that do not have a religious belief, and usually, are worshipping mammon, don't seem to understand the concept, that a lot of people want to donate to a Christian organization, that they know will use the money to help the disadvantaged people of their community. It's all part of the "greed syndrome" that is taking over the mind set of so many people. All they know is me-me-me. All that is important to them is that they gain personal wealth, and the devil take the hindmost. They think that, if they pay their taxes, that they are, indirectly, helping the unfortunates, and don't seem to care that the government wastes 70% of every tax dollar through bureaucracy, and then doles what's left to those they know they can count on for their votes. Bush is a Christian, and understands the meaning of tithing, so this thread is a proper place to bring up such an issue.
