Bidder, sorry to see you have already found the other side of penny investing. The lure is seductive, however, the potential loss is real and can be large. It also cost me ~$40k to learn the game before getting even which took over 3 years. Most early penny players winners are only loaned their gains by the market makers when they are lucky. There is a good reason that most advise only playing the pennies with money you are willing to lose. Diversification minimizes loss and lets one play again. Good luck and don't be shy relating your experience. It may help someone else, but of course most won't listen because they know better.

Best of luck to you Bidder. Sorry to hear whats happened, I can certainly relate. Like Richard's experience, it took me years before I learned the game, probably about 4 years. During that time, massive swings up and down at times. Its not easy and not for everyone, in fact not for most. I can relate to how your feeling now, but try and stay positive and I wish you much success in the future.

Bidder, I wish you well. My thoughts and prayers are with you. The OTC market is highly manipulated and highly speculative.

Nine times out of ten; if you are not in on the bottom; then you may have to sit on a position.

I have only bought three OTC stocks in the past two months.

I have been rolling most of my money into Naz stocks and still sitting on a large cash position.

The market still has no true conviction or direction.

Most important Bidder; please, please don't do anything foolish. If you need someone to talk to go ahead and PM me.
I will give you my phone number.

Cheers

RG

Bidder I'm very sorry to hear your news. Man you were doing so well there for a while it was amazing.

I've kept one of your posts, and read it again from time to time.

Message 13235757

But it does bother me, that while you credit some of us for your successes back then, we are probably partly responsible for some of your setbacks as well.

I don't know anyone that hasn't taken some big bad hits in the last couple of months, I know I have, and again yesterday and today, I did some serious weeding...it hurt, but was necessary.

I sure hope we see you around still, or again, and wish you the best in everything you do. You've definitely been one of the most liked people I've seen on this thread to date.

Best, and kindest regards,

Jim

Bidder think about it over the weekend before you decide to quit forever...The way I see it the mm's have spent $40,000.00 to further your stock trading education. Look at it this way, you took out more cash than you started with so you really didn't lose anything except your time and profits, and the time wasn't lost if you learned something. Think of it as an education grant from the mm's.

I think we're all in the same boat here. Look at the recent past posts of SSP, Bishop, RG, 200mph, Truman123, Tom Allinder, and on and on. We've all lost at some point along the way.
I still have my capital and a small profit, same as you, and I sure miss having 10's of 1000's of dollars to trade with, just as you do. But I'm not going to quit. I intend to keep trading and learning and next time, and there will be a next time, I plan to be ready from them.

The mm's use the same tricks over and over and the more you see them the more you know what NOT to do. Look at all you've learned already. All I'm saying is, take a break and recharge your batteries, but, you might want to keep watching and learning, because you never know when and what might happen. Hey, if Tracy Moore can come back from the dead, anything can happen!
Good luck! :-)
Bob

Hi Bidder,

As sorry as I am to see you leave, I think you are doing the right thing. The easy money in the OTCBB this winter was a rare event, and it is tough for all of us to adjust to the fact that when things are back to what passes for "normal", the OTCBB is a can be a very vicious place.

Come back in November, start following the Golden List thread and the e-mail newsletters for ideas. My experience for the past 3 years is that "good" OTCBB stock that are being shorted as people sell for tax loss reasons, take off in the last 2 weeks of December and into January.

If you want to play an exciting part of the stock market, with a little less risk, I suggest that there are plenty of NASDAQ stocks that make nice 1,2,3 day moves when the markets are heading up. They can still be wild though, just take a look at QCOM, CTXS, NEON, and NUAN. Learn to read intraday and daily technical charts to make buy and sell decisions. They help a lot and I usually kick myself when I ignore what they're telling me.

Or maybe just go out and enjoy life !

Take care,
Chris
