Oh yes, Bezos, a former HEDGE FUND MANAGER, paid no attention to the stock price of AMZN, nor tried to influence it through fraudulent accounting practices or blatant hyping in the press. Yeah right! He played the markets like a fiddle.

Do you remember the "Announcement that will change the face of e-tailing forever" that turned out the next day to be "We're going to sell workshop tools" ?

The stock went up 30% in one day.. Do you REALLY think someone wasn't making a killing on calls or common?

How about this- are you aware that nearly 100% of Amazon's secondary offering and long term bonds are held by ANONYMOUS offshore investors?

The biggest internet retailer on the planet, and yet the identity of its biggest debt holders are unknown. Does this sound like a giant scam, or a legitimate company?

You can hardly blame Bezos for momo investors taking AMZN's stock price to the
moon.

Anindo,

Here you are clearly incorrect. Do you recall the press release that Amazon was going to make a major annoucement the following day in New York that would change the face of e-tailing forever? Anyhow, Amazon actually put out a press release to that effect. The following day all the analysts were there to hear and all kinds of press etc. to hear Amazon say they were going to sell hardware.

I admit there were a lot of momo players in the market then and any stock with a small float could be taken to the moon in short order. However, no firm took advantage of those market conditions better than Amazon. Bezos or his PR person were the finest at this job. They were better at putting out press releases than they were at fulfilling orders and agreed they do that well.

I could find some of these releases and show you how they were slanted to make them sound like Amazon was taking over the world if you would like. Some small examples was when some company would become an Amazon affiliate which any individual can do, Amazon put out a press release.

Amazon was putting out press releases daily that had no material value and sometimes more than one in a day.

Now that he doesn't I
am sure AMZN is now going to
focus on profitability and how to monetize the brand.

Do you have a clue how this could be done? I surely do not and I run a profitable e-commerce site. My site also has a great brand except it is regional more than and national and multi-national.

By the way, I have not been able to take a billion dollars out of my site yet??? Insiders did that at Amazon yet they lose money. I make money, so it appears I am doing a far better job.
