Exactly right. Almost like he was using an axe to chop a piece of wood that was at a 45 degree angle. Both elbows bent (it seemed) all the way through the swing.

At one point, on one of his mulligans, I put my driver about ten inches off the ground and about 10 inches behind him so he had to swing lower to the ground (the ball still faded). I don't really have the patience (or skill) to teach.

I did advise that he get a new teaching pro, and he said he would. He's a great guy, a good athlete in great shape, I wonder if the harm done by the first pro can be undone before he gives up the game in frustration.
