Personally Dougie, I don't give a rat's @ss.

However, your bosum bud, Richard might disagree with you since he seems to think that Ron Paul or his ilk really care.

What these guys care about is getting re-elected every two years. And none of them are willing to risk their political health by creating economic chaos. The kind of chaos that would ensue should they try to reinstitute a system that lacks the flexibility to deal with fast moving markets and monetary requirements. Especially since the gold standard was just as flawed as the current system, if not more so.

IE: If such a monetary system impacts the ability of their constituents to enjoy maximum job opportunity, you can forget about them giving gold the time of day. And you can be sure they will be all too willing to sell US gold reserves to boot.

Gold doesn't get politicians elected... people having jobs does.

Regards,

Ron

<<we will not destroy each other but only hurt each other>>

Hummmm...interesting thought. Kinda like a cold war between parties?

Mutual destruction? Now where have I heard that before? Time for disarmament?

Doug,

Don't believe it. While some are in Congress for only reelection, there are also some which work for good & truth not their own power or bank account. Remember Congressman Ron Paul is first an MD & keeps his medical license up to date.
Senator Allard is first a D.V.M. & also maintains his license to practice.
There are many more - just go look.
