Excellent article, Daniel. Thanks for posting it. I couldn't agree more with the assessment of government, in particular the notion that we no longer have a "federal" government. Our government is either a "national" or "central" entity; a case can be made for either.

I wish it were possible to subject it to the same antitrust proceedings as Microsoft went through, but that would require the participation of a populace that is fat, dumb, and happy, and therefore out of the question.

The article also begged a question: did the government attack Microsoft because it was getting to the point that the company was becoming powerful enough (in wealth and influence) to compete with the government itself? <g>
