You're right they don't but the evaluations are going on now and as far as I know none of the new phones being introduced this month or in the next few months are 1X. Kyocera's two new phones to be introduced later this year are not 1X (right?). The most advanced phone that just hit the market in the last month or so, Samsung 8500 uses the MSM3300. That's gonna be a hot one this Christmas and it's not 1X.

Believe me I'd be thrilled if Nokia was dead, but since US wont be going 1X till Q2 of 2001, Nokia doesn't need a 1X phone for the this market in 2000. JMHO
