Bulls and Bears and Banned

A review of my posts might tend to lead someone to think that I am a "Bear". Some might reach that conclusion without reading the posts but just by noting that many of my posts appear on this thread.

There is probably not a single stock that will not go up on Monday. Nor is there a single stock that will not go down. How many finish the day higher than they started is another question. The same is true for days in the month and weeks in the year.

Over a period of months or years stocks do not always provide a competitive risk and inflation adjusted return. Sometimes they have, and sometimes they have not. That is a fact.

We have entered a period where stock does not represent a good investment alternative. (People who have read my posts probably will have noted by now that I do not use qualifications like in my opinion, belief, etc. If it was not my opinion or belief I would not have stated it. Other people's opinions and beliefs are attributed. My humility or pride don't seems relevant to the validity of the argument. The burden of determining the truth or usefulness of my comments is up to the reader. Anyone who blindly follows anything is a fool.) While this condition will not continue forever like a season or a drought it will persist for a extended period of time. The fact that throughout this period of time this perspective will be discernable in my comments does not make me a Bear.

Anyone who reads the post on this thread will clearly see that even to the extent that there may be some similarity in the perspective of many of the contributors overall perspective that a broad spectrum of views are presented concerning both long term and shorter trends.

As I understand it, the purpose of the thread is to help us all become better navigators. That is the reason that some type of rationale for a prediction is requested. It is not very useful to me to have someone say buy this or sell that without telling my why. Even if I make a profit by following the advice I have not learned how to make a profit investing.

When I conclude that conditions have changed such that stock does represent a good investment I will say that. Should I choose to express that on MDD, even if no one agrees with me, as long as I provide some insight concerning why I have reached that conclusion, I am certain that no one will prevent me from posting those views.

Furthermore, if anyone wants to explain to me why (not that)I am wrong, I am sure that you will be able to do so on this thread.

Before you send me a PM that says you can't because you have been "banned" from this thread send a PM to LG.
