OT: BS or Conspiracy? Investor Charges Pre-Planned
Slaughter By MMs
By Jack Burney
Published by OTCNN.com
06/23/2000 08:25 AM CST

(This is another in the series of articles about MMM, which has become the acronym in the
industry for Market Maker manipulation. If you have facts to present, please contact us at
jburney@otcnn.com)

Opinions are like that certain body part ? everybody has one. One such opinion, appearing in
these columns yesterday, suggested that OTCBB stocks just coincidentally tanked simultaneously,
and MMs had nothing to do with it. True, MMs are skilled at hiding their sins, but they can?t hide
from their victims. Two of them speak out today.

?You didn't begin this a moment too soon!? cried one investor, referring to OTC News
Network?s (www.otcnn.com) investigation of MMM. ?Every stock I own has been literally
bludgeoned half to death since mid March. It has been a pre-planned slaughter by MM's on
almost every single bulletin board stock that held any real value.?

Another investor, in support of the conspiracy theory, presented his study of two dozen OTCBB
stocks that show suspiciously similar chart patterns, boom in early 2000, bust since mid-March,
and the percentage of overall loss. The figures speak for themselves.

?You want my honest opinion?? asked Investor ?SP.? ?I believe that there is a conspiracy to rid
the OTCBB of as many of these small American companies as possible.?

Investor ?SP? gave full name and address, but asked that it not be used because, like other
investors, SP is afraid. ?I never use my real name. Too few have way too much power.?

It all began on cue in March, SP said, ?and really got going in mid April, with no letup
whatsoever. It has slowed on a few, but they (MMs) come right back and... lock up the bid and
ask to stop trading, lower the bid or ask according to sells or buys, and (begin) naked shorting
with 100, 200 or 300 piddling shares on the bid, to take it down again.?

MMs will also do this at the end of the day, said SP, to make it look as though there was more
(investor) selling than buying. Usually, there is much more buying, and still the stocks sink, again
and again. Then, they widen the spread so much that no one will touch it.

?You are into the most insidious, ignored practice of all time in any exchange, at any time,? SP
said. ?The SEC has turned its back on this, knowing what is going on, and now they tell us it will
take well over another year before they can even consider the no-naked-shorting rule they asked
us to comment upon. This is really criminal, and it?s being ignored by the powers that be.?

Why? That is a long story,? says SP, ?but everything I have seen thus far leads only to that
possibility (conspiracy).?

Investors are afraid to speak out, SP says, ?especially with no encouragement coming from the
SEC. Most of their time is being spent going after the small companies themselves, and none, thus
far, on the market makers' greedy games.?

OTC News Network and Wallstreetjovial, SP said, ?have been the only places where anyone
could go to learn the truth and to tell of their experiences in this wild, untamed territory. MMs are
obviously getting very rich, at the expense of the small investors, who have seen their portfolios
dwindle to less than 3/4ths of their original value. Crimes have been committed against these
companies and their investors and it is time to get this out into the open.?

OTCNN has noticed a pattern emerging from investor reports and e-mails about OTCBB stocks,
some of which you can read in Investor Forum. The charts are so similar for so many stocks that
one question pops up. Is it just an incredible, unprecedented coincidence? The only other
possibility is, obviously, conspiracy.

Indications are that this potential ?pre-planned slaugher? of OTCBB companies began in
mid-March. But now another investor comes up with an expanded theory. Did MMs pump the
stocks up for several months before mid-March, then send them plummeting to a June disaster?

Investor William H. Dawejko says that?s what happened, and he has the numbers to prove that
the boom-and-bust pattern was carried out. Proof of MMM is in those figures.

"Most securities in US Markets have virtually the same historical chart pattern this year,? said
Dawejko. ?I think investors were manipulated out of trillions by MMs after they enabled rising
bid/ask prices during the first three months (of 2000).?

Here is his list of two dozen OTCBB stocks he watched from 1/1/00 to 3/10/00, then the % of
loss since then. The March 10 date is arbitrary. There is no correlation to this year?s high.

Five figures are listed for each stock: (1) Bid on 6/16/00, (2) Bid on 1/3/00, (3) Bid on 3/10/00
(4) % Gain YTD on 3/10/00 and (5) % Gain or Loss since 3/10/00.

The arithmetic?s easy.

The conspiracy goes? if you were an MM, say you conspired around January 1, 2000 with
other MMs to drive a 15-cent stock up to $1.93, where you sell a lot of shares at the high price,
but you don?t buy any shares to cover those sales.

Now you do some naked shorting on the stock. You use your buyers? money illegally as collateral
for your short position. Then, on cue in mid-March, you and your co-conspirators drive the stock
relentlessly down to 38 cents. Now you can buy shares to cover your short position at that price
and keep the balance of $1.55 per share.

With millions of shares trading in such a stock ? it?s grand larceny on a scale that would give a
Mafia boss an inferiority complex.

To paraphrase an old joke: ?You DON?T got it, you sell it ? such a business!?

:-(

For example, an investor
will not have to worry about finding he owns a stock that had an unannounced reverse
split.

The flip side is we will no longer be able to make HUGE profits on unnanounced FORWARD spilts.

Just when the game was starting to be fun.......
